- WHAT! Why would it fall down on me!?
- That would be because of Gravity. It attracts forces to the ground so they don't float into space. So when the apple fell off the tree it immediately fell to the ground.
- What was that!?
- That was an apple.
- Wait isn't speed and acceleration kind of the same thing?
- Well most people think its the same thing but acceleration and speed are different. Acceleration is speeding up slowing down or stopping while Speed is how quickly something is moving.
- Now the apple is rolling down at a Speed of 2 m/h.
- That's right! Mass is typically a large body of matter with mo definite shape.
- Wait doesn't Mass affect the speed and acceleration? Like it determines how fast and far the object goes?
- When I rolled the apple down the small hill, The apple hit the rocks and it still rolled a little up the rocks. This is due to Inertia.
- Well I know this one! Inertia is the tendency of an object to resist a change in motion, or at rest.
- Oh yeah I totally forgot about that! You are absolutely correct! Force is when there is a push or pull in an object.
- I know it's getting dark but you forgot about one thing, Force. When the apple was rolling along the ground, as it was pushing against the ground, the ground was pushing up against it and also when you pushed it you were applying an opposite force.
- Well that is because we are just about to be in fall. When it is winter and fall the days get shorter and well before I get myself going on that subject we should probably get inside.
- Wow its already dark! we have only been out here for an hour!
