- Juliet's mother calls Juliet to tell her about the young man she would like her to marry. Juliet mother advises that Juliet scans the man features to see how handsome he is.

- Romeo and Mercutio are talking about how good Tybalt is with the sword. They also talk about jokes that are so lame to them that it makes their head hurt.
- Juliet's father and mother have arranged a marriage without her knowledge with noble early Paris. They are deciding on which day the ceremony will be held.
- Juliet fakes being dead by drinking a sleeping potion made by the friar. Her parents and the nurse walk in horrified and devastated by the horrid reality their eyes unfolded.
