- There there lived four friends named Carlos, Sofa, Diego, and Marta in the small hamlet of Villa Ftbol. They played in the fields all day and were always seeking out new ways to have a good time. One day, while searching through Carlos' grandmother's dingy attic, they came across an antiquated book about the development of soccer.
- The leader of the group, Carlos, started reading the book out loud. They learned that soccer's earliest known forms were played with a ball made of leather and animal bladders in prehistoric civilizations. The four buddies found they were interested in learning more about soccer and its history as they continued to read.
- They chose to look for the neighborhood coach, an elderly man by the name of Don Juan who had been a star player in his earlier years. Don Juan informed them that the 19th century saw the birth of modern soccer in England, which later spread to other countries. He spoke to them about the excitement of scoring a goal, the camaraderie on the pitch, and the ability of soccer to unite people from many cultures and nations.
