  • Got the Civil Rights Act passed Led the March on Washington which involved more than 200,00 people Led the Montgomery Bus Boycott which would end segregation on buses.Founded the SCLC or Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Helped to end segregation in schools. Successfully used nonviolent methods to protest and earn equal rights.

  • Early LifeMartin lived a pretty regular life in a regular African American middle class family. Both his parents were college educated and he would later be too. King would eventually attend college at Morehouse College.
  • MLK is mostly remembered for his methods of nonviolent protest and for being one of the biggest leaders of the civil rights movement. He is also remembered for his leadership in major protesting events and his contributions to ending segregation.

  • King got involved in the civil rights movement because he had seen his dad protest for various things such as voting rights and segregation as a kid. Later on, Martin would be considered to have first gotten involved in the movement during the Montgomery Bus Boycott in which he would lead and support the end of segregation.
