JOHN KERRY
Secret Service
One role of the President is Chief Policy Maker. In this role, the President makes recommendations to Congress, tries to persuade members of Congress, signs or vetoes bills, and reports to Congress each January. In the picture, the President decides to sign a bill after deeming it was a good law for our nation to have.
Another role the President has is the Chief Executive. In this role, the President appoints high-level officials and discusses national issues. In the picture, the President is lifting the national mask mandate.
An additional role of the President is the Chief of State. In this role, the President focuses on day-to-day things going on in the nation. This includes inviting champion sports teams to the White House and addressing the nation with speeches like the State of the Union address. In the picture, the President is presenting an award to an FBI agent. Note: Secret Service agents are adding protection on the edges.
