- Oh WOW, I never realized that there was a time in history where it would take people that much time to travel from one place to another when now we can travel some of the same distances in much less amount of time.
- Yeah, but things changed dramatically when the steam engine was invented in the 1700's. The steam engine was applied to steamboats to travel more effeciently on water and it was also applied to trains to make travel more effecient on land. Internal cumbustion engine led to cars then planes.
- WOW, I can't imagine the relief that people felt when the steam engine was invented. Thank you for telling me all about how much transportation has changed over history and time. From now on I will never take the transportation we have now for granted.
