  • At first it seems that Sergei is selfish and wants to keep the goldfish to himself. Then his previous wishes are revealed and he used them all to help others. The last one ended up not turning out the way he wanted so he was hesitant to help Yonatan. In the end he decided to use his last wish to bring him back to life.Sergei-protagonist/dynamic/round

  • Sergei doesn't like this, doesn't like that the boy is almost at it, already reaching for the jar. In this instant Sergei understands the boy didn't come for television. What he cam for, specifically, is to snatch Sergei's fish, to steal it away.
  • People tend to put themselves over other people more often than not. People should think about others more than themselves. This scene Yonathon doesn't want to lose his friend, the goldfish, and wants to keep him, but knows he should save this kids life.
  • Plot
  • The conflict in the story What of This Goldfish occurs when Sergei kills the videographer on accident so the boy will stop speaking. When this event takes place Sergei is handed the question of if or if not he should use his final wish and save the boy or save the wish as the Fish who grants his wishes is his only friend and he does not want to sacrifice their relationship. This conflict is a Man vs. Self conflict because Sergei is faced with the dilemma of whether or not he needs to se his wish.
  • The point of view of this story is third person omniscient. The reader hears the fish's, Yoni's, and Sergei's thoughts and feelings throughout the story. 
  • The climax of the story is when Sergei hits Yoni with the lamp and kills him.
