- Slide: 1
- Ethos:Sylvia is the only person who tells Truman the truth. She is honest, brave, and wants to help him. She doesn’t care about fame or money. She just wants Truman to be free and happy, and that makes her very trustworthy.
- Pathos:People feel a lot of empathy for Sylvia. She really cares about Truman and tries to save him. Her emotions are real. She gives the audience hope that Truman will discover the truth and live a real life.
- Sylvia(Lauren)
- Slide: 2
- Ethos:Truman’s mother is also an actress. She pretends to love him, but it’s all part of the show. She never tells him the truth, even when he starts asking questions. Because of this, she seems fake and selfish.
- Pathos:Her character makes people feel sad. A mother should protect and love her child, but she only follows the script. It shows how alone Truman really is, and that is very painful to watch.

- Ethos:Meryl is Truman’s wife in the show, but in real life, she is just an actress. She tries to look like a perfect wife, but her words and actions feel fake. She even talks about products in the middle of conversations. This makes her look untrustworthy and dishonest
- Pathos:Meryl makes people feel uncomfortable. She acts cold and distant, even when Truman is confused and scared. Viewers feel angry at her, but also a little sorry, because maybe she doesn’t have a choice.
