Pathos:People feel a lot of empathy for Sylvia. She really cares about Truman and tries to save him. Her emotions are real. She gives the audience hope that Truman will discover the truth and live a real life.

Pathos:Meryl makes people feel uncomfortable. She acts cold and distant, even when Truman is confused and scared. Viewers feel angry at her, but also a little sorry, because maybe she doesn’t have a choice.
