  • This war defending the colonies sure did cost a bloody lot of money... they ought to help repay our debts. Hmmm... I know! I'll place taxes on them!
  • How could our king do this to us? We don't even get representation in parliament to have a say in where our precious money goes!
  • The Stamp Act- Passed in 1765, colonists tolerated paying taxes to assemblies, because they had a say in what their taxes went to.
  • This is tyranny, the king can't tax each paper good!
