Beetween 1880 and 1925 around 4 millions Italians moved to the USA in search of better living conditions. Half of them were from Southern Italy.
Leaving their mother land and moving to a brand new world was a great shock for all of them. This meant forgetting their past life and facing an unknown world.
After a very long and difficult journey through the Atlantic Ocean, the immigrants landed at Ellis Island where they had to face stricht medical and administrative checks.
Life in the USA was very hard. People had to work hardly, many hours per day, trying to make their living day by day. However, in a long run, many of them made their fortune.
During theese years , thanks to the hard work of many immigrants from different parts of Europe, USA grow stronger#160; and#160; more powerful.
Along with them, Italians brought a rich history and culture. May of them found#160; their fortune, becoming brand known artists, filmmakers, singers and skilled and talented professionals.#160;
