  • hi, welcome to the indus valley. right behind me are our lovely houses in the indus valley. they are made out of mud bricks. the bricks lay out in the sun and dry. These houses were important to them because on a hot and sunny day they would be able to have a place to sit down, relaxe, and sleep at.
  • they build there houses around the courtyard. families here spend most of the time on the roof because it is the coolest place in the house. 
  • the indus valley is located in pakastan. we live near the indus valley river but we'll talk about that more later. the indus valley people were here since 2500-170
  • hello, this is the amazing indus river. this river is very important to us because we use the water to grow crops for food. it also provides drinking water and cleaning water. we use the river very often and it is very helpful on our every day life. 
  • hey there, these are our bathrooms but of course they would not be this modern. if someone needed to go to the bathroom they would go to the toilet and the toilet prohimited water clean. the water would drain into the pipes and into the streets.they had wells were they would get clean water. when people took showers they would stand on a brick tray .

  • in the indus valley we dont really have a written language so they used seals. seals were used to write on stone. we would press the seals onto soft clay and it left a copy on the clay. then the clay would dry and it would be used as a tag and we tie it on baskets or pots.
  • trading was a big thing in the indus valley. farmers brought food to the cities. the city workers would bring cotton cloth, beads, and pots. traders would trade the materials that the city workers needed. they would pack up their goods and load them on the boat and sail to land.
