- French and Indian war

- The first continental congress (September 1774)
- before the french and american war, the English had established colonies in North America. Then the French started to make their own colones. causing the British to use force to fight for land. the British won in the end
- the second contnetal congress ( May 1775)
- after the French and Indian War, the British were taxing the colines because the British were flat broke. The colonists didn't agree, and they felt that they had no taxation without repiation. so therefore they stopped buying some British goods.
- The battel of Yorktown
- Important men such as Patrick Henry, George Washington, John, and Samuel Adams, discussed the crises. they made an army with gorge washinton. the first battle was in 1775.
- Treaty of Paris (9/3/1773)
- The current leaders meet in Philidelphia to talk about the crises, Eventually getting to the topic of independence They talked about popular sovereignty – all government power comes from the people, The Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776
- The last major battle of the American Revolution was fought at Yorktown, The French navy had blocked the British in causing mass panic. The British army surrendered on Oct 19, 1781, after they had been surrounded by American and French forces.
- Britain recognized the independence of the United States ending the war, and then came the American constitution, which was made in 1787. Which had the idea of freedom for all and that the peole should have freedom to vote of the goverment.
