Hmm, If i use Maths here then,Let the distance from man to thief be x, if thief travelled 9m in 3 sec then his speed is 9m/3s = 3m/sthe length of road is 0.9 km means 900m that means if he runs in constant speed then he will need 300 seconds to cover the distance of the road
Thief! Thief! catch Him!
Slide: 2
So, it will take 5 minutes for thief to escape from lane 1 but if we use displacement route then we will have to cover 300 m and in order to catch thief we need to run double at his speed so, required speed = √3m/s, which is irrational but mathematicians found that √3 = 1.73 , {1.5 m (approx.)} so our speed should be 1.5m/s
Ok! Got it
Slide: 3
we need to cover distances with turns so i will now plot it into points, from a to b we need to run at speed of x and b to c we have to run at y and at c to d we have to run at z and to overcome his speed with have to square it so, (x+y+z)² = x² +y² +x² +2xy +2yz +2xz , after putting the values we get: 20.25m / s hence we have to run at this speed in all the lanes and all the turns. So don't waste time and run! catch the thief and get your items! go go go!!!!!
Ok I am going!, Thanks! now I understand the power of Maths
