- I want to enlist as a Marine
- The story is about a Navajo Indian boy named Kii Yazhi. He went to Gallup, where the mission school was located. His uncle took him there to learn to speak English and to communicate with the white man. The school was called the Rehoboth Mission.
- They changed his name to Ned Begay and they took everything away from him such as his clothes his watch and all of his belongings from him and then gave him a uniform and a cap.
- Ned was 16 when his schooling ended, and wanted to enlist in the U.S miltary as a Marine. Then he became a code talker for the U.S Military.

- The Navajo Marines were brought to camp Elliot where they were told they were going to develop an unbreakable code. The Marines were to become code talkers. All previous American codes had been broken by the Japanese, so they needed to develop a new code.
- Through the bombardment the 12 transportation ships kept moving to the shore of Purauta. Their guns on the ships opened up firing shots from their three inch battery. That was if anything came back at us from a shore battery the would have perfect range.
- The Code Talkers helped the U.S military defeat the Japanese Military. Finally the Japanese military military surredered.
