Lived a group of Chinook salmon. Two of which were friends named Charlie and Greg.
Greg and Charlie love to eat fish. One of Pacific Salmon's favorite foods is Amphipoda or ray-finned fishes.
Suddenly the group of Salmon had an overwhelming urge. . . An internal feeling was sending them toward the river.
The Chinook began swimming toward the river. Unbeknownst to them, external instincts were leading them to the first step of spawning.

The surface of the water though posed an unseeable threat to their mission. Fishermen were setting out gillnets, right in the path of Greg and Charlie's group.
The net came down so quickly that some of the Chinook group was unable to react.
Hey Harry, what do you think about searching for Some fish?

Luckily Greg and Charlie were able to evade the net.

After such a long day, the Chinook school decided to rest for a couple of hours.

A few hours later. . .
On a nearby island, a few Harbor Seals belonging to the Pinniped group decided they were a bit hungry.
I think that's a great idea!
The two seals jumped into the water.
Hey, Did anybody hear a splash?
WATCHOUT!!
I don't think so?

Nice thinking Greg! Now we can keep heading towards the river.
Turns out, Greg did hear a splash. It was time to make a swim for it.
Where are we Greg? I've never seen this type of ground before?
I think we've made it to the river Charlie, this type of sediment is a tell tale sign. Lets keep going.
Wait a second Greg, why is everyone changing colors?
I have no idea Charlie! Why are you asking me !?Why would I know!?
With the ability to hide in a kelp forest, Greg and his buddies were able to escape Harry the Harbor Seal. With Harry gone they continued their journey towards freshwater.
WE JUST NEED TO KEEP GOING! WE'RE NEARLY THERE!
After one hour of swimming. . .
After reaching the river, the group of salmon decided to keep swimming up it.

A couple more hours of swimming passed and the group began changing colors. This is a telltale sign that the group of salmon is on its way to spawn. The aggressiveness coming from Greg is a sign as well.
