Gina was born with SLOS disorder, that causes learning and microcephaly. It was a shock for her parents because they never thought of it and were not prepared for it. Doctors suggested to place Gina to an institution because it would be difficult to take care of her at home. Her parents didn't give up and decide to take her home and take care of her at home.
It's amazing how her parents didn't give up and take care of her. Her mother make sure that Gina get education and live a life like normal kids. She plays a huge rule in Gina's life and provide her a welcoming and suitable environment. I like how she puts so much effort in Gina's life. Her parents provide her many therapy's. Their efforts payed off when they saw their daughter improving. It shows that every person is capable of doing things and person's disability shouldn't define him/her.
All Are Welcome
FOUR WAYS I WILL HELP PARENTS SHARE THEIR VOICE I will make my classroom welcoming for all children.I will make a trust relation with parents and students so they can share about any issue they are facing. I will stand with parents to provide their children a learning and suitable environment. If our district doesn't provide support to parents that is required, I will stand with parents and make sure their voice is heard. I will do a parent survey for my classroom to know if parents want any change in their children's learning environment. I will collaborate with other teachers to work on issues like this to make sure parents' voice is heard and every children get a learning environment they deserve and need.
