  • My friend ended up leading us to the catacombs, which was an unusual location to try some Amontillado. It was dark and you can hardly see anything, but Montresor had a flambeaux for each of us to use. Now, all I can see were human remains, nitre, and wine casks.

  • I was currently drunk, mainly from the start of the carnival. I did have a little cough, but my friend, Montresor, offered me Medoc. He mentioned to me how the wine will help me with my cold, so I was very accepting of the kind help.
