  • The Boston Tea PartyThe Boston Tea Party was an event that happened in response to Great Britain passing the tea tax. The colonists were enraged that tea from Britain now had a tax, so a group of colonists called the Sons of Liberty threw many crates of British tea into Boston Harbor as a sign of protest.

  • The Boston MassacreOn March 5th, 1770, an angry group of patriots were protesting when British soldiers began firing at the protesters, killing 5 people and injuring more.

  • The Stamp ActThis act helped the colonists' resentment towards the British worsen, as this act passed by the king was one of multiple of the acts passed in order for the British to gain more money to pay for all the damages after the Cherokee War. This act required taxes on paper items. All papers that were bought had to have a stamp to show that the tax was paid.

  • LISTEN UP! Your Royal Highness has now passed the Stamp Act on March 22nd, 1765! From this point on, all paper items will have a tax on it. Paid taxes on paper will be represented with a stamp, so don't you think about getting away with not paying your taxes!
