- They went to Kansas their journey was 123 miles Kansas was 8000 miles of that journey. He said that Kansas was beautiful and there were dears, also lots of berries.

- He was the first American to travel territories by land he said Kansas was a desert. he said that the land was so plain that it seemed useless.

- He traveled by steamboat he labeled Kansas on the map as "The Great Amerian Desert". The view of Kansas being a desert stuck with it, so it was influenced the government to settle politics for years to come.
- He said Kansas was covered in trees and ranged by a few thousand savages to extend republican. they planned for covid to have farms and cities and towns.
