- Abigail and the girls make up a lye about there being a bird because she wants people to think Marry Warren is conjuring up spirits.
- Jealousy
- Danforth does not want to stop hanging people because he already has hung 7. If he says he made a mistake he will look bad because he killed 7 innocent people.
- Hysteria
- Shes doing all of this to us! Her spirit is doing all of this.
- Just tell the truth Mary!
- John gets redemption for himself for not giving up his personal identity and this makes him feel that he is forgiven for his past sins.

- Abigail drinks blood because drinking the blood will summon a ghost to kill Elizabeth Proctor because she is the one who wants John Proctor.
- Mary Warren goes crazy when everything gets turned on her and the girls are saying that she is doing witchcraft on them. This makes Mary Warren look like she is causing harm to them and she will get arrested.
- I cant pretend to faint, I`m not doing this.
- Thomas Putnam is greedy because he tries to get people convicted of witchcraft so he can purchase their land.
