- hello you are listening to 98.3 and today we are interviewing merek edleman lets get started
- why did you start fighting for the jews
- why did you become a hospital messenger
- I became a hospital messenger to recruit fighters but now looking back i almost got caught and killed to many times.
- although we knew that we would never when we still fought to protect the peoplein the ghetto to extend their life by a day or two
- when did you start to fight for the jews
- how did you feel when the nazis said they where deporting jews for resettlement.
- we started on january 18th 1943 me and the troops disguised are se.ves as deportees and open fired on the nazis that was scary but i knew it had to be done for the rest of us jews to surivive
- I knew they where lying when they said that Nazis are a group of hateful people expscally towards jews i knew theymwhere lying and they rally ment thekilling us.
- Why do you want to spread your word to people
- was it dificult to form a jewish defence group with nazis luking around
- the reason I wanted to spread more word through speeches and interviews because i want these generation to know how it felt and them to avoid it from happing again and also to persuade younger viewers to stand up for what you believe in.
- yes it was very difficult if i was caulght i would be shot on sight but i was careful and cautions of who i recruited and i survived
