In the introduction to The Great Gatsby, we are introduced to the narrator, Nick Carraway, and his friends, Tom and Daisy Buchanan. During this scene, Nick is over to have dinner with the Buchanans.
Chapter 2
Daisy is a Catholic and they don't believe in divorces. 
In this scene, Daisy and Nick are talking about when Daisy had given birth to her child. She stated that she wanted her daughter to be a beautiful little fool.
Chapter 3
In this scene, Tom and Nick make a stop on their way to New York. Tom is instructed Nick to follow him and that he wish for Nick to meet the other girl he has been seeing.

In this scene, Tom is with Myrtle Wilson, his mistress, and Nick is talking with Catherine, her sister. Catherine is telling Nick about how they believed Daisy was Catholic but Nick knows she is not. 
In this scene, Nick is talking with a man he met at Gatsby's party and standing with Jordan Baker. As Nick is asking where to find Gatsby and discovers he had been talking to him. 
I'm Gatsby. I thought you knew. Afraid I am not a very good host.
I haven't seen the host. This man Gatsby sent over an invitation.
In this scene, Gatsby is waving everybody goodbye at the end of his party, which followed with a man crashing his car. Gatsby's party was basically telling the people leaving that they can always come back and escape reality for a while.
