In 1804 the government sent out Lewis and Clark to explore the new land. Lewis and Clark went through the Eastern part of Kansas and saw the lively part of Kansas.
Jackson's Speech
In 1806 the government sent out Zebulon Pike to explore more of the Kansas area. This time, the explorer went through the Western part of Kansas and saw the dry desert part of Kansas.
Indian Removal Act
In 1819 Stephen H. Long set out to explore Kansas by boat. He, like Pike, went to the Western side of Kansas and saw just desert land.

In 1929 Andrew Jackson, the president at that time gave a speech to congress saying to move the American Indians to the North. He also added that when they move, The U.S. will use their land.
In 1830 the United Staes government forced the East American Indians to the north. This caused a lot of rivalry between all of the tribes.
