- English settlers were starting to take most of the Native American lands around this timeThe Native American people were living out in the wild and were living in teepees, and wigwamsThe Thirty Year War happened at this time.
- Puritanism or Colonial (1620-1750)
- More and more people started immigrating to the states to start a new life. The Colonialists mostly lived in the Atlantic Coast of Colonial America.The English Civil War started around this time to stop people from immigrating to the colonies.
- Revolutionary, Age of Reason, Enlightenment (1750-1800)
- Colonists were still living here at this time still. The English Red Coats were being stationed at this timeThe Thirteen Colonies were where most of the people livedThe Revolutionary War took place between 1775-1783
- Romanticism, American Gothic (1800-1865)
- Many different races of people were starting to immigrate to the United States for a better life.There were 25 states at the time of this periodThe Civil War was taking place through 1861-1865.
- Transcendentalism (1840-1860)
- Most of the people who were involved in Transcendentalism were philosophers.Transcendentalism started around in New England and moved to Concord, Massachusetts.Progressive stands happened with Women's rights, abolition, reform, and education.
- Realism, Naturalism Regionalism (1865-1914, 1930, 1895)
- Realism's main idea was to stay at the survival of a state. Naturalism believes in only natural laws. Regionalism seeks to increase political power. Locations were from the East and South of America. The Triple Alliance War happened around 1864 and ended around 1870.
