- "Play your best...and I'll make you barons and dukes and earls."
- Harrison escaped prison and wanted to show his real self with a empress. He then asked the band to play music so he could dance 
- "It was then that Diana Moon Glampers, the Handicapper General, came into the studio with adouble-barreled ten-gauge shotgun. She fired twice, and the Emperor and the Empress were dead before they hit the floor."
- They reeled, whirled, swiveled, flounced, capered, gamboled, and spun.They leaped like deer on the moon Until the Handicapper General came in. 
- Diana Moon Glampers loaded the gun again. She aimed it at the musicians and told them they had ten seconds to get their handicaps back on.It was then that the Bergerons' television tube burned out.Hazel turned to comment about the blackout to George. But George had gone out into the kitchen for a can of beer

- The author made many good points in this story. In the story, everything is made to be equal and perfect as everyone asked. If you are stronger than what is supposed to be the average strength then you get things added to make you weak, and if you are above the beauty standers then you get things added to make you ugly. The things added were called handicaps. In the story, the world lost its diversity and no one was unique and different. With the new law, the world lacked new ideas, smart brains, and strong working people. If the world was like this story everything would feel black and white.
