Hi everyone! My name is Ally and today I will be discussing how specifically exercise boost our metabolism !
WHAT IS METABOLISM?
It is the process your body uses to make and burn energy from food. You rely on your metabolism to breathe, think, digest, circulate blood, keep warm in the cold, and stay cool in the heat.
Researchers have said, it is well-known that exercise is a metabolism booster and is more efficient at converting our food into energy and using that to burn body fat
In high-intensity, short- term exercises (2-20 seconds): ATP Produces through the ATP-PC systemIn intense workouts (longer than 20 seconds): ATP is produced through anaerobic glycolysisHigh intensity workouts lasting longer than 45 seconds: ATP is produced through ATP-PC, glycolysis, and aerobic systems
In prolonged exercises (lasting longer than 10 minutes): ATP is produced primarily from aerobic metabolismSteady state oxygen uptake can generally be maintained during sub-maximal exerciseSome examples of high-intensity short-term exercises include: sprint intervals, jogging intervals, squat and lunge jumps, jumping jacks Some examples of prolonged exercises are: running marathons, sports like soccer, basketball, etc, cycling
Thank you for tuning in, I hope you learned how our metabolism responds to exercise and how it affects our body!
