- Bruno arrived late to see Shmuel because he was talking to Maria and he also brought bread and cheese for Shmuel to eat.
- I don't think you realise just how many people live on this side of the fence.

- Bruno asked Shmuel if he knew who Pavel was and he was telling Shmuel that Pavel lived on his side of the fence.
- I don't like taking about Lieutenant Kotler.
