  • Well now, why don't ya pick somethin' ya wan' from 'ere, darlin'? Go on, anythin', promise I won't get all riled up! (After Tatiana speaks) Ha ha ha! Ana, dear, you was suppose' to get somethin' fer yerself, sweet!
  • (After Grandma speaks) Well, Grandma, if you say so! I think I want...some of these newspaper articles and the water bottles! You wanted more, right, Grandma? (After Grandma speaks) Yeah, but...I'm young. You need things more than me, and you did say you wouldn't get angry! Ha ha ha!
  • Well, hello! Are you that rather poor little family who lives down the road? Ah, I thought so, I thought so! My, my! Is this your granddaughter? She's quite the fairy princess, aren't you, my dear? How would you like to be part of our family instead? You'll get everything you could ever want in life, and-(After Grandma speaks) Don't be SILLY! She is beautiful, and has the potential to be a famous model like my Helena here! And what a name! TATIANA! The name of a queen! She will be far happier with the rich life she deserves, don't you think?! *lunges for Ana's hat* *grunts at the effort of trying to keep her back*Don't be ridiculous, girl, hold still!
  • (After Melissa speaks) No thank you, Miss. Young Tatiana here is in my care and my care only! (After Tatiana speaks) LET GO OF HER OR I'LL CALL 911! GO ON, GET!
  • GRANDMAAA!!
  • Ana, I made some new rules around here, so listen closely: First of all, come straight home after school and NEVER EVER make any detours even if it seems completely safe. I'm going to give you a flip phone to call me in case of an emergency and I've assigned you a bodyguard. (After Tatiana speaks) *sigh* Sit down, Ana.
  • (After Grandma speaks) WHAT? You, you can't do that! Just enroll me in some martial arts class or get me into bodybuilding or something! Just don't imprison me! I want to see the world! Why are you freaking out? Is it because of that lady? That only happened once!
  • That's me. Not the sweet Grandma, the little girl down there. Yeah, that's me when I was just 8. It was snowing heavily, and my Grannie took me out to get some things from the newspaper stand. Whenever Grandma told me to get something for myself, I'd always get something for her instead. I loved Grannie dearly, but I would never have expected what happened next. You see, my parents died in a car crash when I was a baby, and my legal guardian was my Grandma. Random people passing by would stare at me and compliment my pale blue eyes and blonde hair. Grannie said they were just being nice, but people here weren't that nice to other girls! I was determined to figure out why they loved me so much and why Grandma was hiding it from me.
  • Ever since your parents...passed, people have been trying to snatch you away from me and use your beautiful features for themselves by brainwashing you into getting into modeling! Modeling agencies would pay a lot of money to have you as the primary model, so they were obviously trying to do that. You thought they were random compliments, but that's not true, sweet.Look, honey? I'm sorry. It's not right, and I shouldn't, but you understand why, right? I mean, I just want to keep you safe, and you should have your own say in what you want to do with your life! Oh, I feel so guilty!
  • (After Grandma speaks) Yeah, I understand, Grandma. I'll do what you say. Don't feel guilty, it's all right, I'll...I'll be fine.
  • Suddenly, out of nowhere, a lady and seemingly, her daughter approached us. She introduced herself as Melissa and complimented us as anyone who saw me would, and we thanked her and looked away. She stepped closer to me and insisted she adopts me. Grandma retorted that she was the guardian and no one except her was going anywhere with me! Enraged, the lady grabbed my hat by the straps. While this was happening, her daughter just smiled. I could tell she was smiling even though she had on a mask over her eyes and her mouth and nose. The lady was seriously hurting me, and she wouldn't let go until Grandma threatened her with the ol' "911". That scared her and her evil spawn off. From then on, Grandma acted, strangely, to say the least...
  • (After Eleanor speaks) What? *sob* Wh-What do you mean?! I don't need a new guardian! My grannie's alive! She'll, she'll open her eyes any second now, you'll see!! *more sobs*
  • Ana, was it? I-I'm your cousin, Ella. My mom, your aunt, is to be your new guardian, and she's waiting for us outside.(After Tatiana speaks) Ana, please. The doctors will shoo us out!
  • Grandma was super strict after that incident. She told me to come straight home after school and to NEVER EVER make any detours even if it seems completely safe. She gave me a flip phone to call her in case of an emergency and even assigned me a bodyguard! She was going over the top with all these unnecessary precautions, and I couldn't understand why! She sighed, sat me down on my bed, and explained everything.
  • All this fuss over a stupid old prune!
  • How long is this thing?

  • Grandma told me everything. Ever since my parents died in a car crash, people have been trying to steal me away from her. She had 3 options: 1) Destroy my face so people leave me alone 2) Make me wear a wig and contacts 24/7 and 3) Move somewhere where pale blue eyes and blonde hair was common. She was seriously considering the 3rd option. She would NEVER even think about the 1st and 2nd.
  • Everything was fine until Grandma got symptoms of cancer at my school play. She was such a fighter during her struggles, but her old nerves couldn't take it. Her funeral was to take place on March 30th. I don't know what exactly to say. I was crying. I was angry. What else? I glared at everyone at first. But then, I just felt lonely, and I guess it shone through because my aunt's daughter hugged me. It was just so much, and I couldn't keep it in anymore. I burst out screaming and crying. She didn't call me crazy or step away from me with disgust as most at the funeral did. She whispered, "It's going to be ok, Ana, Everything's gonna be ok."
