Hey James! In Statistics this morning I was kind of confused on how we use different methods to either reject of FTR the Null.
Hey, no worries Megan! I can help you understand how to use the p-value, T-statistic, and Confidence Interval to form a decision about the Null!
So, basically when looking at the p-value, if the p-value is less then 0.05, you reject, but if it is greater than 0.05, then you FTR the Null!
Ahhhh okay, okay, I am starting to pick it up!
When it comes to the T-statistic, if the absolute value of the T-statistic is greater than 2, you reject, but if it is less than 2, you FTR the Null!
Lastly, you can reject the Null is outside of the CI and if it is inside the CI you FTR!
Now, let's check your understanding. What would your decision be if the p-value was 0.01 and the absolute value of the T-statistic was 7.33?
Hmmmm let me think.... is it Reject the Null?
YES!!! You got it! Great Job Megan!!
Oh my gosh!! I finally get it!! Thank you so much James, now I feel confident in making that statistical decision!
