The Rich FoolLuke - 12:16-21By Austin ClarkJesus told this parable to people so that they would learn its not important to be rich with money, but to be rich with God's love as you would get the reward of heaven. This parable tells us that God can be much more rewarding in the after life than money can be. It also tells us about how humans are so determined for money, but if they're rich towards God, they will be rewarded better.
Man, who appointed me judge or an arbiter between you?Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possession. Let me tell you a story of the rich fool...
Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.
What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.
The Rich FoolLuke - 12:16-21
This is what I'll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. I have plenty of grain laid up for years, I'll take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.
Jesus tells a group of people about the story of The Rich Fool after two brothers are fighting over money.
You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for your self?
"The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest", said Jesus. After he had grown so many crops, he was wondering what shall he do?
This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich for themselves.
He then makes much more bigger barns to store his grain so he can live a life of wealth and laziness.
When he was walking back to his house an angel came down and told him that he was a fool because when he dies he will not live in wealth because he was not rich to God.
The people then learn that being rich towards God, is more rewarding then being rich with money.
