- Everything is good so far. Let's make sure Griffith is on track...
- Silence, dog! I must concentrate. I'm experimenting with 2 different strains of streptococcus pneumoniac. Based on my data, it appears the rough strain is virulent while the smooth strain is non-virulent.
- So you've discovered that genetic information can be transferred between cells?
- Haha! Yes, yes! I'm a genius. I shall name this process transformation.

- Is that... a talking dog? Anyways... We've discovered that DNA is responsible for the development of pneumonia in mice infected with the heat-killed S and live R-strain bacteria. Transformation did not occur when DNA is cut up which means it is not protein but rather DNA which contains genetic information.
- Well if it isn't Avery, MacLeod, and McCarty! How is your experiment going?

- We're conducting an experiment using radioactive substances and bacteriophages (aka viruses that infect DNA)! We've discovered that the genetic material of the bacteriophage is a nucleic acid (DNA).
