- When the Europeans arrived, the started to hunt whales in Newfoundland at a unsustainable rate, when the whale population declined, they moved up to Antarctica. The arrival of Europeans deeply effected the Inuit. The Europeans also brought deadly disease with them.
- Conversion to catholithism
- When the Europeans arrived they started the fur trade. Because of the fur trade, they killed an unstable amount of beavers. It weakened their connection with nature.
- The Beothuk
- The Europeans brought deadly diseases to which the aboriginal had no immunity, such as smallpox, measles, and influenza.
- Kidnaping
- The Priests told the Aboriginals that if they were not baptized they would not go to heaven with dead relatives, so many converted to catholicism. But some wanted to honor their burial ritual which had been in place for decades.
- The Beothuk were a peaceful group of aboriginals and they preferred to stay out of sight, the Europeans found this suspicious and decided to terminate them. Beothuk men, women, and children were murdered on sight.The Europeans also set traps in rivers and the Beothuk food supply was cut off. Soon they were extinct.
- The Europeans wanted to prove to Queen Elizabeth the 1st that they were telling the truth about the aboriginals. So they kidnapped aboriginal people and brought them to Europe.
