- Jason Kim traveled from Seoul, South Korea to Missouri.And now he stood in front of the class not knowing any English while the others didn't know any Korean either.

- Jason started eating American food like the other kids at his school he ate cheeseburgers instead of kimchi stew.He noticed that other kids seemed or looked different and he wanted to fit in and be like them.

- Climax
- He also threw away his k-pop CDs and stopped reading Korean children's books. Jason also refused to eat korean food and wanted American food and instead of speaking his native language he decided to just speak english like others.

- He grew up trying to accept himself and the names to him symbolized how to accept himself as for how he is and spoke up about it and soon realized that he will forever be Korean and needs to be proud of himself.

- When Jason finally accepted himself he said¨At one point during my 20s, I took a long, dramatic look and realized.You will be Korean for the rest of your life. As a teenager growing up in the midwest, that thought made me cringe.Now,it makes me happy and deeply proud.¨
