The first stage that I perform is the Interphase. This stage occurs between divisions. During this stage, I grow, develop, and perform my functions. Towards the end of this stage, the amount of DNA that I have doubles. Other organelles like cytoplasms and mitochondria aldo double.
Hi I am a cell. Today I am going to tell you about my life and the stages that I must perform so that I can grow.
The second stage is the prophase. Because of the doubled amount in DNA, each chromosome appears as two identical strands that are joined at the center. In this stage, the nuclear membrane also breaks down during this phase.
The third stage is the metaphase. In this stage, the chromosomes are lined up in the center of the cell. Another thing that happens is that the the spindle fibers attach to the center of each chromosomes.
The fourth stage is the anaphase. in this stage the chromosomes split. Each of the halves are pulled to the opposite side of the cell.
The fifth stage is the telophase. In this stage the chromosomes cluster in the center of each new cell. Along with this the nuclear membrane begins to form and the cells begin to separate.
The sixth stage is cytokinesis. In this stage the cytoplasm divides. After this, two daughter cells are formed.
I hope that you enjoyed this complicated journey through the Cell Cycle.
