- I repeat, do not step off the path!
- Eckels want to go in the time safari and shoot a dinosaur. The story starts off with Travis explaining the rules to Eckels for the time machine and when they travel to the future and things that will happen and what you do. The sign in the beginning says Time sifari, Inc. Safaris to any year in past, you name the animal, we take you there, you shoot it.
- Climax
- AHHHH!!
- The day before the story is taken place, there was a presidental election between two people, someone named Keith won. Eckels was happy with the results and says he will make a fine president. The man behind a desk was trying to talk Eckels out of going in the time machine, he does anyway.
- Falling Action
- They have gotten to the future and Travis is noe explaining to Eckels that bad things will happen if he steps off the path, so he repeats multiple times and gives examples as the why he cant step off the path and that it can change things. Eckels gets nervous and excited to shoot at the dinosaur.
- Conclusion
- When Eckels sees the dinosuar he begins to rethink he whole situation. He starts to get way too scared and is told togo hide but then goes the wrong way and ends up stepping off the path wile the others are shooting at the dinosuars.
- After Eckels steps off the path Travis gets mad at Eckels, for punisment he makes Eckels put his hand in the dinosaurs mouth all the way down to his elbows, on the way back they get to the time safari sign they saw in the beggining, it had changed and was all misspelled.
- Eckels realizes that he stepped on a butterfly when he stepped off the path, this caused stuff to change in the future, he asked who won the election and they said Duetscher which was the other cannidate, Travis was so angry with Eckels so he shoots him.
