By keeping families informed and engaged, you help create a consistent, positive environment that helps students thrive both in and outside the classroom.

In practice, Standard 5B is about building strong connections with families to support students. It involves keeping parents informed through regular updates and being open to their feedback. Teachers invite families to participate in class activities and work together to set goals for their child’s growth. By organizing events and fostering a collaborative relationship, teachers create a supportive environment where both school and home work together to help students thrive.
