Storyboard Text

  • I am Salmonella Bacteria. I was attached to the uncooked chicken and I have left it and attached to the walls of the small intestine. I will start to divide and create more and more Bacteria infinitely unless the digestive system does something about it.
  • We are currently in the Large intestine. Right now we have nearly been fully absorbed and the job of the large intestine is to absorbed all of the water. Unfortunately that is not happening right now. This is because the digestive system has detected the infiltration of Bacteria and needs to empty everything to get out the Bacteria.
  • Emergency! Emergency!
  • Emergency! We are the bowels which is the combined system of the small and large intestine. We have detected bacteria and now we have to empty to stop the infection from spreading. We are beginning a process called peristalsis which is just the contracting of the intestines pushing everything out. This means the large intestines don't have time to absorb the water resulting in diarrhoea. The food now travels through all of the intestines and out the anus.
