The Tale of Sir Topas is the 19th story in the Canterbury Tales. Sir topas is an old man who goes to find an elf queen. While searching, Sir topas comes across a giant who stops him in his tracks.
Climax
After a long ride in the forest one day, Sir Topas stops by a water place to get a drink and falls asleep. He dreams of an elf queen. He decides he is going to search for one after resting.
Falling Action
When he wakes up, he takes off in search for an Elf Queen. He comes across a 3 headed giant guarding the Elf Queens territory. The giant threatens death if he doesn't leave.
Resolution/Lesson
Stop rhyming!
Sir Topas claims he will find his Elf Quen no matter what. He takes the giants word and decides its time to leave. He travels back to his castle after accepting the giants challenge.
I will get the elf queen!
In preparation to fight the giant, he has a great feast. He also prepares his strongest weapons and armor to fight. Once he is done preparing he decides to go back and fight the giant.

The story abruptly ends. Chaucer (the one telling the story) is interrupted by the host and told to stop rhyming and telling something in prose. Chaucer agrees and moves on to the next story.
