There is a mating ritual that goes on where the female waits on a leaf and the male flashes his light. The light flashes are produced in a pattern which tells them that there is a female waiting. The light produced by the the Firefly uses energy which they get from the energy storage molecule which is just energy stored waiting for use.
Once the Firefly finds a mate the Fireflies will reproduce about 100 eggs into the soil below. There isn't much the parent does after mating except for leaving the area to move on which then the larvae just fight to survive their start of their lives.
Firefly larvae once hatched will craw out the egg and start eating the resource population around it consisting of snails, slugs, caterpillars, and other insects. Which would provide the Fireflies with a lot of energy storage molecules. When they start to grow to a certain point where they will build a mud chamber where they will start to grow wings and restart the entire cycle of finding a mate then reproducing.
