- Cellular Respiration Project
- Today we will be doing the cellular respiration lab since yesterday we disscused the stages.
- Sir, I wasn't here yesterday is it possible you can review cellular respiration before we begin with the project.
- !st stage: Glycolysis The first stage is glycolysis it occurs in the cytoplasm. During this stage glucose is broken down into two molecules of pyruvate that enter the Krebs Cycle. Little ATP is made.
- Where does the krebs cycle take place?
- Yes! of course I can go through it again.
- 2nd stage: Kreb's CycleThe Krebs Cycle takes place in the mitochondria. When the broken glucose enters the rest of the glucose is broken down and electrons are extracted and go to ETC. Again little ATP is made.
- 3rd stage: Electron Transport ChainIt takes place in the Mitochondria. Energy is transferred to a chain of proteins in the inner membrane of the mitochondria.
- 3rd stage: The protiens use the energy to pump hydrogen against the membrane. In this cycle a lot of ATP and water is made.
- Which of the cycle are aerobic or anaerobic?
- Glycolysis is Anaerobic The krebs cycle is aerobic and theElectron Transport Chain is also aerobic.
