Louis XIV: A Day in the Life
Storyboard Text
- At 8 o'clock, Louis XIV is awoken by his personal servant. After waking up, he sees his First Physician and surgeon. Then, he is kissed and rubbed down by his wet-nurse
- King Louis, it is time to wake up!
- After he is given the book, King Louis XIV is left alone to say the office and get dressed.
- At a quarter past eight, the Great Chamberlain is admitted to offer the King holy water and the book of the office of the Holy Ghost.
- Here you go.
- After dressing, King Louis XIV announces his appointments for the day.
- Mass has begun!
- When the king is ready, he goes to Mass. The council meets after mass.
- Nothing like a bit of fresh air!
- Everyday, the king made time to go outside to get fresh air. Occasionally, he would go stag hunting or take ladies on picnics.
- Goodnight!
- Before retiring to bed, the king fed his dogs and knelt beside his bed to say his prayers. He says goodnight to his nobles, officially ending his day.
