- The East India Company was a private British company that went to India to trade resources. The East India Company controlled India all the way from the 1600's to the sepoy Mutiny in the 1800's. When the Sepoy Mutiny started The East India Company went away and the British government took control.

- I think it's time we stand up for our religion and for what is right!

- The Sepoy Mutiny started in 1857. The reason the Sepoy Mutiny started was due to the British people not respecting the religion of the Indian people, and greasing the bullet cartridges with cow and pig fat. The reason this was so bad is that the two main religions in India were Hindu and muslim and in hinduism cows are sacred, and pigs were seen as filthy animals not to be eaten in muslim religion.

- Mahatma Gandhi helped lead India to independence. He helped by leading the salt march and fasting for days on end to protest. He helped in many ways, but was eventually assassinated one year after India gained its independence
