Clara, do you ever wonder how the plants and animals grow? It’s not like they can go threw a drive thru or anything.
Well, actually I do know how they grow. They grow through photosynthesis and cellular respiration.
Here, I’ll let my flower friend Lily explain it to you.
I want to help explain please!
So, plants absorb carbon dioxide, water, and sunlight energy which is captured through the chlorophyll on the leafs of plants.

Carbon dioxide
The carbon dioxide, water, and sunlight energy enter a plant cell and travel into the chloroplast organelle. Here ATP and NADPH are transported into the Calvin Cycle where hydrogen and carbon dioxide create oxygen and glucose.

Glucose
Glucose is probably the most important sugar. It can be used in cellular respiration to make energy as well as being stored for uses later on. Glucose is basically plants food.

Ahh okay, I get it now! But wait, how do organisms make power for themselves?
Hey! I can help with that! Us animals are experts at cellular respiration.
