  • Employees at Phonetech Call centre:
  • This is the third month where I've been underpaid
  • I am still unable to use my work medical aid
  • We can;t keep working like this
  • At the meeting:
  • I think the trade union organiser is a great idea
  • A spokesperson needs t be elected to speak to a trade union organiser on our behalf
  • As employees, I think its best to have a trade Union represent us to help us resolve this ongoing issue that we have.
  • I agree, a trade union organiser is the next best option for us
  • Employees decide on who should be their spokesperson:
  • I nominate John too, being part of a trade union will give us a step ahead.
  • I am part of a trade union and I also studied law. I would not mind being the spokesperson for every employee
  • Employees at Phonetech Call Centre are unhappy with managemnet as they have not being receiving their full wages and have not been able to use their company benefits. Even after multiple complains, managemnet makes promises to sort out the issues but never fulfils the promises.
  • At the meeting with Trade Union organiser and Employer/Management:
  • Thank you for meeting me Mr Willson. My collegues and I have had issues at the workplace and we need someone to represent us.
  • ouremployers have not been paying us full wages and we have not been receiving employee benefits in the past couple of months. This is a huge problem for us.
  • Employees have decided to have a meeting to inform a trade union organiser to help them with recieve their full wages and work benefits.
  • Trade Union organiser explains to John his role:

  • As a trade union organiser my role is to represent emplouees during grivance meetings, provide assitance and guidance..
  • Employees have a dicussion to decide on which employee is best to be the spokesperson. John nominates himselfbecause he has law history and is part of a trade union. The other employees agree to let John be the spokesperson.
  • The trade Unionorganiser explains his rights to John:
  • The laborRaltions Act 66 of 95 gives me the right to access the workplace,represent memeber and meet with the employer
  • John is a memeber of National Education, Health and Allied Workers Union(NEHAWU). He has been a memebr for 5 years.John meets with Mr Willson to dicuss the grievances the emloyees at Phonetech have.
  • Thank you for coming to me John. I can certainy help and reoresent the employees.
  • Mr Willson explains to John what his role and rights are as a trade union organiser
  • That is exactly ehat we need , someone who will represent us well and be able to advice and assist us
  • The following day, John returns to the office to inform the employees of the news. All employees are pleased. The employers also addressed the matter with the employees to reassure them that they will be paid in full.
