  • Scene 1: The Role Of The Oldest Child
  • Scene 2: The Role Of The Middle Child
  • Scene 3: The Role Of The Youngest Child
  • Meet Roselyn. She's the oldest child of the family. As the oldest she's been given strict expectations and duties. Roselyn is always on her best behaviour. She's well mannered, polite, and never acts out of place. She's also dependable, and incredibly intelligent. Since Roselyn the oldest she's very mature when handling situations and is pretty bossy towards her siblings.
  • Scene 4: Under The Mask
  •
  • No surprise I got 2nd place. Messed up a bit on purpose. I'm tired of always entering academic competitions. I wanna be a Actor performing on stage.
  • Meet Jay. He's the middle child of the family. He's quite rebellious in the family. He can be very competitive from time to time. He is an Independent person and tends to work alone, unless if it's during a basketball game. Due to the lack of attention he's getting from his parents he would do anything to draw others attention towards him.
  • Scene 5: Spotlight
  • Yes I've decided I will run again for this year.
  • My next game should be this Friday. Please come and watch My team and I will be taking home that trophy for sure!
  • Meet Arlo. He's the youngest child of the family. Arlo is a charmer. He tends to use his charming looks and words to get what he wants. He sometimes is rebellious but tends to get away with it. He is very sociable. And he is quite the "people pleaser." Since Arlo is the youngest he tends to get picked on by his siblings Roselyn and Jay. Due to this Arlo has developed anger issues and annoyance that can be easily triggered mainly when he's at home.
  • Scene 6: Two face
  • Hi! You're Arlo right? The most popular kid in school. I was wondering if that seat in front is taken? And was hoping if I can join with you for lunch? I'm new here as you can see.
  • Sure I don't mind. Please take a seat. ☺️
  • Roselyn has recently entered a science fair competition. Everybody expected Roselyn to get 1st place but unfortunately she got 2nd place even if she was the smartest student in their school. But no surprise there recently Roselyn has been lacking motivation in her studies. But little did everyone know Roselyn has other plans. Roselyn has given a lot of though on what she wants to be when she grows up and deep down she knows that she wants to be an Actor. But everyone and even her parents expected her to be the next CEO and inherit her parents business. In this case Roselyn is showing Role Distancing. Since her role is being the oldest child in the family she as high expectations from everybody else and she has to play that role to meet those expectations. But deep down she knows that this isn't her real self. Showing how she is lacking motivation in her studies is giving hints that she's not committed to the role that she's been assigned with.
  • 2nd place again! Dang her competitors must have been tough for these past few fairs.
  • That's strange she's that smartest student in our school I thought she would've gotten first place.
  • Congrats Roselyn for coming in 2nd place our City annual Science fair.
  • 2nd place ain't to bad. Maybe she wasn't feeling well on that day. Oh well maybe next year she will come in first.
  • I bet her entire family is proud of her especially her parents. Even if it's 2nd place
  • Each day the family members tries to maintain a good reputation and seek anything that will draw attention to them. In Roselyn case it was expected of her to run for Student Council President. Since she doesn't want to disappoint others and her parents, she willingly accept. In Arlo case he decides to host a huge party where all of his classmate are invited. In Jay case he tries to maintain a good reputation but somewhat lacking. But this is balanced by the fact that he is the school basketball captain. In this scenario Goffman's Dramaturgical Analysis can be shown in the following. People try to place themselves in the best possible light and would engaged in "Impression Management" by a given role. Since Roselyn is the oldest she has high expectations and duties. Since Jay the middle he lacks attention from his parents and is willing to do anything to seek attention from them and others in a good way or not so good way. Since Arlo is the youngest he likes to please people and charm them, grasping everybody attention towards him. Charles Derber theory can be also shown in this scene. Charles Derber suggested that a typical conversation is a competition to seek attention. He also mentions how most conversation is about themselves. And in this scene notice how all of our Main Characters are talking about themselves drawing attention from others.
  • Roselyn is it true that you will run for student body president for this year?
  • YAYYYYY!!!!
  • Your the best Arlo!!!
  • Hey guys, my parents will be leaving for a business trip over the weekend so I decided to throw a huge party and you all are in invited!
  • OMG it is Jay, but I heard he hasn't been to school for a couple of days because he's constantly practicing for his big game.
  • Thank you so much man! We're gonna have a blast!
  • OMG is that Jay the Captain of our Basketball team!
  • Hey Jay when is your next game?
  • It's lunch time and the Cafeteria is packed with Students.. A new kid who moved to this City a few days ago approaches the "Popular Kids" table. The New Kid recognizes Arlo and asked him if he can join with him and his friends for lunch. Seeing how he's new and all Arlo welcomely accepted his request. But deep down Arlo isn't too happy and is quite annoyed. According through Goffman's Dramaturgical Analysis people constantly engage in role-playing, front stage and back stage. During front stage Arlo loves to please people and make them happy, due to the fact that he is the youngest child. Since there is a large amount of people in the Cafeteria Arlo has no choice but to accept the New Kid request. Doing this not only made the new kid happy but others as well (notice the red hair girl expression) But during back stage, in his house, he easily can get quite annoyed, and tends to throw tantrums, it's just he doesn't show it when he's front stage, such as public places.
  • Ugh does this new kid know that this is the popular kids table only. A nobody like him should be allowed to sit here. I'll let it slide for today. 🙄
