- Why did the Revolution take place?The revolution took place as a result of Britain placing unfair taxes on the people of the colonies. For example, the British tried to tax the colonies on tea, resulting in the Boston Tea Party of 1773

- The Boston tea party was a protest, in response to unfair taxes the British set on tea imports to the colonies. During the protest, a group made their way onto a import ship and threw off all of the tea

- In response to the British setting in taxes in Boston, patriots in Boston often protested. In the Boston massacre, a fight was happening between a few patriots and a soldier, this snowballed into British soldiers opening fire into a crowd of colonists
- In 1776, Thomas Jefferson wrote the declaration of Independence, declaring the 13 colonies as an independent nation, and declaring the rights of man within the country
