  • Almost 175 year ago, Alexander Graham Bell was born on March 3, 1847 in Edinburgh 3, 1847 in Edinburgh, Scotland. His Mother was mostly deaf and his father was a professor.
  • At earlier age, Alexander Graham Bell received homeschooling from his father. He was later enrolled at the Royal HighSchool in Edinburgh, Scotland but he did not enjoy the compulsory curriculum and left at the age of 15 without graduating.
  • He attended University of Edinburgh and then moved to London to live with his grandfather, who inspired his passion on science. In 1865 the family moved to London. Alexander passed the entrance examinations for UniversityCollege London in June 1868. However, he did not complete his studies, because in 1870 the Bell family immigrating to Canada.
  • He worked with a few other scientist to create the first telephone in 1876 and the graphophone in 1886.
  • He married a girl named Mabel Hubbard and had two children together, a boy and a girl.

  • On August 2, 1922 at the age of 75, he died from complications of diabetes in Nova Scotia, Canada. During his funeral, every phone on the bell network in Canada and the US was kept silent for 1 minute in honor of Bell.
