  • As Khloe placed the rose on her father's grave and turned to leave, she froze. Her breath hitched in her throat. There it was—the shadow—staring at her with an emptiness that made her skin crawl. It had no face, no eyes, and yet she could feel its gaze piercing into her soul.
  • And yet, something—or someone—was there. The shadow lingered in the background, silent and watchful, blending so seamlessly into the gloom that Khloe never noticed. Its shape was almost human, but distorted, as if the darkness itself had taken on a life of its own. It didn’t move, merely stood as an observer, waiting.

  • Panic surged through her, and Khloe bolted, her feet pounding against the earth. The shadow didn’t follow, or so she thought. The cemetery vanished behind her as she ran, until at last, she collapsed on her front lawn. She looked behind her, but the shadow was gone.
  • When Khloe’s mother awoke the next day, she found the house eerily quiet. Khloe’s bed was untouched, her phone left charging by the bedside table. The girl was nowhere to be found. Her mother called friends, neighbors, the police—everyone—but no one could explain her disappearance.Legend has it, on certain stormy nights, visitors to the cemetery claim to see a shadow that doesn’t belong. It stands still, always near Khloe’s father’s grave, waiting for something—or someone.
  • Weeks turned to months, and Khloe never returned. The only clue was the wilted rose found by her father’s grave, untouched and eerily pristine, as if frozen in time.
