- My family and I are emigrants from the united kingdom living in our small house in the countryside. I want to migrate somewhere for a new work opportunity.
- My Travel Journey
- Many women here in England were promised a job as a nursemaid in households but they actually shipped off to a plantation. I don't want that to happen to my wife.
- Life when I Arrived
- Our dream is to live in North America. In North America, there are many good job opportunities. I hope this move will give my family a better life.
- My Life Today
- I've arrived at a farm somewhere in California. The hope is will get enough money to set up a store and then return home to my family.
- It's been a couple weeks since I started working in California at the farm and the pay has been really good. There's a big variety of emigrants working with me here on the farm. Everyday after work, I talk to my wife and kids. I send them money but they are still sad I am gone. My hope is that I can get them to America.
- I became an US citizen after my work visa had expired and I was able to move my family here. Leaving my family to help us all out and have a better life was a good decision.
