- After a long civil war in Nigeria a person named Jonathan unburies his bike. He buried it to save it from being taken by the military knowing that it would be useful one day. He decided to bury his bike in the camp of the dead where his son was buried.

- After using his bike as a taxi Jonathan finds his house. Although it had the door, the windows, and the roof were missing Jonathan fixes it up using the money he made and moves into the house with his family.
- Jonathan collects pounds of money when he opened up a bar. This felt like Christmas to him.

- After Jonathan went home he slept but then at one o'clock in the morning he heard a knocking. When he went to see who was at his door he meets a group of theives.
- “Awright! We know say you no get plenty money. But we sef noget even anini. So derefore make you open dis window and give usone hundred pound and we go commot."
- “What do you want from me? I am a poor man. Everything I hadwent with this war. Why do you come to me? You know people whohave money. We . . .”
- “Are you dere? Bring the moneyquick!”
- Jonathan gives into the thieves demands in order to save his family from getting killed by them.
- “What is egg-rasher? Did I depend on it last week?Or is it greater than other things that went with the war? I say, let eggrasher perish in the flames! Let it go where everything else has gone.Nothing puzzles God.”
- On the next day Jonathan and his family went back to doing their everyday routines almost like the robbery never happened. When people sympathized him he said this.
